Forming the future tense is simple!  The future is used whenever you want to express what WILL happen!

You take the verb in the infinitive form and add the future endings (which are basically the verb AVOIR)

                                            Endings:        je - AI            nous - ONS            *inside the shoe, the endings are AVOIR*

                                                                     tu - AS           vous - EZ

                                                                     il - A                 elles - ONT

               

Examples                        MANGER                            FINIR                            VENDRE (*you do need to take the E off*)

JE                                    mangerai                            finirai                            vendrai

TU                                    mangeras                           finiras                            vendras

IL                                    mangera                                finira                            vendra

NOUS                            mangerons                        finirons                           vendrons

VOUS                            mangerez                            finirez                            vendrez

ELLES                           mangeront                        finiront                           vendront

 

The endings with the future tense NEVER change.  However there are a bunch of verbs that have irregular future stems.

The most common irregular stems are:
