The imperative (or commonly known as commands) is conjugated in only THREE forms.
TU used when talking TO one person Go to the store!
VOUS used when talking to 1+ people
NOUS used when talking to a group of people which INCLUDES yourself Lets (let us) go to the store!
NO SUBJECT PRONOUN
What distinguishes the imperative form is that there are NO subject pronouns, like it is in English. When telling someone to do something, you don't use the "you go to the store"......the YOU is implied.
NO "S" IN THE TU FORM WITH er VERBS
Remember for all ER verbs, when giving a command to one person, to remove the S
EXAMPLES
Mange la pizza! Eat the pizza
Allons au restaurant! Lets go to the restuarant
Travaillez! Work
Reflexive Verbs and the Imperative
*When the verb is reflexive, you still drop the subject pronoun but the reflexive pronoun remains. With commands given affirmatively, the reflexive pronoun comes after the verb. With negative commands the pronoun is before the verb
EX: Brosse-toi les dents! Brush your teeth! Ne te brosse pas les dents!
Lavons-nous les cheveux! Lets wash our hair! Ne nous lavons pas les cheveux!
Asseyez-vous! Sit down! Ne vous asseyez pas!
There are some irregular forms for the imperative: ETRE & AVOIR
TU sois aie
VOUS soyez ayez
NOUS soyons ayons
